The close proximity of the main islands in the Northern Ha'apai group presents an ideal opportunity for exploration by kayak. Hugging the coast you can paddle south from Lifuka to Uoleva, Tatafa and even as far as Uiha or you may travel north along Foa, to Nukunamo and then on to Kauvai (Ha'ano).

The kayaks are an excellent option for exploring outer reef systems on your own schedule and as a surface support vessel when you are on site. Paddle, swim, snorkel, land, fish, sunbathe and take off again; that is the total freedom of having your own boat. The kayaks offer access to secluded beaches that cannot be reached any other way, private beaches, even private islands - it's all waiting just a little bit down the coast.

With our extensive knowledge of the local marine environment we can offer suggested itineraries' depending on prevailing and expected weather conditions, your sea experience, time available, physical ability and customer priorities.

Our fibreglass kayaks are surf ski style, very stable, suitable for calm seas, short trips and day paddling. The boats do not possess storage areas for camping equipment etc and we do not recommend them for lengthy open water crossings. A small day pack can be lashed at the back and this will be subject to wetting. Dry bags can be provided for the protection of electronic equipment. Each boat comes complete with a life vest and spare rope. Front and rear lashing can hold snorkelling gear, water and food.

The Northern ha'apai islands offers some amazing kayaking. With miles of protected coastline, un-inhabited islands, hundreds of reefs and some of the best beaches in the south Pacific there is something to suit just about every taste for adventure.

Throughout most of the year we offer fully guided day trips to near-by islands where you can explore local villages, historic sites and stunning coastlines only accessible by kayak. During the day you can expect to do a total of approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours paddling with the rest of the time spent exploring, snorkeling or just relaxing. We have several different routes depending on weather conditions. Most day trips start from our base at Sandy Beach Resort. From there we will either journey north to Ha'ano Island or south along the coast of Foa Island. We also offer day trips to the island of Uoleva . These trips start from Pangai township. All day trips include all safety gear, snorkeling equipment and lunch and are suitable for any experience level. If you have never paddled before we will give you a quick lesson before we leave.

All our kayaks are also available for hire on a self-guided basis. Included in hire is full safety gear including, flares and hand-held VHF radio. We also have a range of camping gear available. Bare boat hire is $US30 per day.
